What you can do at the Hurstbride Hub
The Hurstbridge Community Services Hub is a one-stop-shop where you can:
- get information about the latest grants and assistance to fill out grant applications
- lodge grant applications and check on the progress of previous applications
- contact the case management service
- access all Nillumbik Shire Council services including booking appointments with the Council's Rebuilding Team, requesting copies of plans and linking in with the Nillumbik Community
Development Officers
- find out how to receive counselling and ongoing emotional support
- request temporary accommodation
- lodge material aid requests through the Diamond Valley
Baptist Church
- get information about rebuilding including access to the Building Commission
- access services and advice from Centrelink
- access advice from a wide range of federal government organisations (through Centrelink) including: Medicare, Child Support Agency, Australian Taxation Office, Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Department of Health and Ageing, Department of Employment Education and Workplace Relations and the Department of Veterans Affairs
- access advice from a wide range of Victorian government organisations including Department of Primary Industries, Department of Sustainability and Environment, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, and Department of Planning and Community Development
- access professional business support services
- get advice on public health issues
- obtain information and advice on land management issues such as erosion control
- get information and access to GPs and local health services
- access support services such as St Vincent de Paul
- get information about local activities and events
- access volunteer labour to assist with re-fencing
- get information about mulch and firewood
- use the meeting rooms, kitchen facilities or limited photocopying service
- drop in for a chat and a cuppa
